Luke Alistar is Retiring

In case anyone still reads this blog, I wanted to let you know that this is officially the end. You may have guessed that, since I haven’t written a new post in eleven months. It was a good run, from February 2010 to November 2014, but after nearly 400 individual posts, it’s time to move on.

I learned a lot as Luke Alistar, about self-publishing and about the literary market in general. I earned a surprising amount of money, and I still get a small amount every month from Amazon for my books. But as I suspected when I first started writing under the name, I’ve reached a point where I’ve changed so much that I have little in common with Alistar, and rather than try to take him in a new direction I am starting again with a new name.¬†Luke Alistar’s books will remain in print on Amazon, and there is one more coming out if I ever finish editing it. The original title is Subliminal, which I posted on this blog as a serial novel when I first wrote it. I haven’t decided if I will keep that title or change it, but if you remember the story¬†and want to see the final version, keep an eye on my Facebook page.

I am now blogging as Mason Lynch over at castinglargeshadows.wordpress.com. As for the future of my fiction, it may depend on landing a traditional publishing contract. I’m working on a new book, but it’s slow going with all the other things that keep me busy.

If you were a loyal reader for any period of time when this blog was active, thank you. It never got very big–I broke my one-day view record on my new blog after just five months–but I posted a huge amount of words on this one, and overall it was a good experience.
